LUDHIANA: The Deputy Prime Minister, L K Advani during his brief stop over at Ludhiana on Thursday assured the country of the doubt, which many have nurtured for the past months.

"Vajpayee ji alone will be the Prime Minister, even if the BJP wins with two-third majority by itself. I have been bestowed with far too many responsibilities, and would certainly not like to take on more," he finished.

Bringing in a true spirit of communal harmony with slogans of Bole So-Nihal, Sat Siri Akal initiated by him, Advani urged the masses to vote the SAD-BJP and bring forth a clean sweep in the state, and reinstate Atal Bihari Vajpayee for the third tenure in the center.

He added that Vajpayee had brought a sea change in India''s profile in the past six years, and if he was nominated once again for a five-year''s term, he was likely to complete the exercise of overhauling the complete country.

Advani, who sat perched in the left front seat of mini deluxe bus climbed to the top of the bus, where a high barricade was made and explained that his Rath Yatra, a purely election campaign yatra unlike other yatras taken by him in the past was a seventeen days affair in the first phase, which will finish on Friday at Amritsar.

A second phase start after four days will cover from Mahatma Gandhi’s own land, Porbandar in the West to Orissa in the East.

Conspicuously, the journey from South to North finishes at Amritsar, leaving out Jammu and Kashmir. All the same, Advani justifies that both Vajpayee, and he had already visited J&K, and BJP, president Venkateshwar Naidu had recently returned from a trip to the valley.

He said he had already planned his trip, before the Election Commissioner announced the elections, and therefore he could merely stretch it and include Punjab in the first phase.

Complimenting the yatra with a shibboleth for Punjab, Advani advocated "Das mayee, Congress Gayee the BJP leader termed the state as the best in the country, and said it would prove the same in the forthcoming Parliamentary elections.

<formid=367815></formid=367815>
